I know, all you need is another bronzer right? Well I couldn’t help myself when I saw that Guerlain came out with a limited edition bronzing powder for Summer 2016. I have been dying to try Guerlain’s Terracotta bronzer for years. It’s a cult classic. In fact, Guerlain has been making their Terracotta bronzers since the 80’s! For some, that’s before your time. For me, that was the time I feel in love with makeup. So, when I saw Guerlain come out with a limited edition version of their Terracotta bronzer, I had to have it. I’m glad I got it because this bronzer has quickly become a staple in my makeup collection (yes, it is a growing “collection”). I’ve pondered on why I love this bronzer so much. I realized that there are three (3) legitimate reasons why I absolutely love this bronzer. It is in fact different from all of my other bronzers.
1) Silicone Sleeve. How many of your bronzers come in silicone sleeves? For me, none. The Guerlain Terracotta Summer Limited Edition Bronzing Powder comes in three silicone sleeve colors (red, coral, and turquoise). I picked up the bright red one. The three color options makes this bronzer customizable in a way and puts a fun spin on picking your bronzer. Not only are these colors perfect for the summer, but the silicone sleeve protects the compact underneath and is reusable.
2) Scent. I absolutely love the scent of this bronzer. Lord have mercy! The powder is fragranced with notes of orange blossom, tonka bean, vanilla and white musk. Every time I open the compact I simply cannot wait to put it on my face. It’s a soft musky scent that transfers onto your skin. But, the scent is not overbearing at all and fades.
3) Formula. Now let’s talk about the formula. It’s a buttery smooth fine powder, enriched with hydrating ingredients – no dry skin over here! It applies smoothly, doesn’t feel heavy, and you don’t need to keep blending it out to have a natural-looking finish. It doesn’t leave behind any orange coloring or harsh lines either. It’s neither too powdery nor too shiny.
This bronzing powder enhances your natural complexion so that it appears sun-kissed throughout the day. I wouldn’t use this for contouring which, I actually do with some of my other bronzers. I apply this bronzer all over my face with a brush using the figure “3” – from the forehead to the cheekbones, then from the cheekbones to the chin, finishing with a stroke down the neck. I then apply a bit more on my cheeks if I don’t feel like wearing blush.
The Guerlain Terracotta Summer Limited Edition Bronzing Powder is $53 at Sephora and comes in two shades (02 Natural Blondes & 03 Natural Brunettes) and three different silicone sleeve colors (red, coral, and turquoise). I picked up the 02 shade in the bright red silicone sleeve.
Have you tried this bronzer?

Oh wow, I have this powder as well, and I absolutely adore it too. I love the scent too. I didn’t know it came with a silicone sleeve though. It looks beautiful! Lovely review! 🙂

Thank you! I believe the silicone sleeve is what makes this a limited edition. Would be great if they sold them separately so I could have all 3 colors. Thanks for stopping by! 😘

I’ve always seen and heard raves about this one but never tried it. Maybe after I finish my CT Filmstar Bronze and Glow.
