BITE X Influenster: The Lip Pencil

Hi Everyone! First and foremost, please excuse my absence from blogging. I did not intend on taking such a long break but a very close family member fell extremely ill and my world came crashing down. All is well now (thank God!) and my life is finally starting to go back to normal (sigh). Now, let’s dive right in to the topic at hand. Bite Beauty and their newly launched lip liners.

I was one of the lucky beauties to receive Bite Beauty’s first-ever lip liners from Influenster. If you are not familiar with Bite Beauty, let me just say that you must try their lipsticks. This Canadian brand really knows how to make a great lipstick so when I found out I would be receiving their new lip liners, I couldn’t wait to try them.

Influenster sent me The Lip Pencil in two shades: 020 (beige nude) and 044 (rich mahogany). I also received matching lipsticks in the shades Honeycomb and Whiskey as well as a Sephora sharpener for the pencils.

Review of The Lip Pencil

Packaging: The Lip Pencil is a classic capped wooden pencil that reminds me very much of the M.A.C. lip liners we all know so well. They have the brand’s signature matte black coating with a colored tip at the bottom which corresponds with the shade of the pencil inside. The one drawback on the packaging is that the cap does not easily attach to the bottom of the pencil. With a little force you can get it to attach but the cap has a small plastic insert that makes it difficult for the cap to stay on the pencil. Maybe it’s just me but I need my caps to attach to their pencils. That way, I don’t lose the cap or have it rolling off my vanity and falling all over the place.

Formula: This is where The Lip Pencil really shines. The formula is packed with Shea Butter making the texture smooth and creamy which is perfect for gliding on your lips. These are not overly creamy though. If they were, you wouldn’t be able to get the precise lining you need to outline your lips. One thing I find with overly creamy lip liners is they tend to bleed and aren’t as long-wearing. The Lip Pencil doesn’t do any of that. With The Lip Pencil you get precise lining, high pigmentation, and a long-wearing, soft formula. They can be worn on their own or with a lipstick on top.

Verdict: The Lip Pencils by Bite Beauty are a dream! They blend seamlessly and if you have dry, chapped lips (like me) you will love this formula. With the precision of a pencil and no tugging as you apply (plus loads of moisture), these are perfect. Do I dare say that I prefer these over my M.A.C. lip liners? Yes!

The Lip Pencils from Bite Beauty retail for $18 each and are now available at Sephora. There’s a whopping 22 shades to choose from, all inspired by natural lip tones.

    1. Me too! I want to buy more of these pencils in other colors. These are comparable in price to the MAC ones (I think $17 ish for MAC and these are $18) but I think these are a better formula than MAC’s. I have to try their lip gloss! I Hope all is well! 😊

      1. I want one of the pencils that goes with the lipstick in Chai. My MAC one in Whirl goes good with Pepper.

  1. Wow, you’re alive! 🙂 I’m glad things are back to normal and good that your family member is healthier now.

Both of these colour look amazing on you! Some people can only pull one off and not the other – you can totally rock both. And also – wow you sharpened those pencils to such a fine point! 😮

    1. Yes I am alive! Thank you so much for your kind words 😘
The darker one is definitely darker than I normally like to rock so I end up adding a lighter shade of lip gloss over it and it totally works (I didn’t do that in this photo tho bc I wanted to show the true color). I’m so glad to be back, I’ll be checking out your blog to see what I’ve missed 🙂 xo

    1. Yes, Honeycomb is a great shade! I also have their pepper, fig, nori etc. shades. All of their shades work so well for me. And they’re truly great quality lipsticks. What a great brand to discover.
