POPSUGAR Must Have March 2016 Unboxing

Happy Saturday! It’s been quite some time since I last posted but the fact of the matter is that sometimes life gets in the way of doing the things you love most. There is nothing like retail therapy to get through tough times and boy have I been splurging on makeup and beauty products lately! I have quite the lineup of products I want to talk about so I promise that I will be posting more regularly soon… 🙂

Before I begin my review of the PopSugar Must Have March 2016 box, I want to mention that PopSugar recently announced a new look for their boxes and also a mini version of their subscription box. I know many people are reluctant to dish out the $39.95 + tax each month for this subscription. PopSugar has heard your cries! Starting in April, PopSugar will release their Must Have Mini Subscription which is a smaller version of their regular Must Have box (the items will be different from the regular Must Have box) for only $18.95 + tax. This is such great news for me because I was actually going to cancel my subscription. Not because of what I’ve been receiving or the hefty price tag each month but because I am starting to collect too many products! It’s kind of getting out of control. So, I cancelled my regular Must Have Subscription and have subscribed to their Mini Subscription. Stay tuned next month to see my post on the Mini Subscription. I’m super excited to see what they come up with.

Now onto the review….

As usual with this subscription, each box comes with a fold out card detailing the items included.

Nanette Nanette Lepore Classic Rose Gold Watch ($55). This is my favorite item from this box. I don’t own much rose gold jewelry but it doesn’t matter because the neutral strap makes it easy to wear with just about anything. This watch was exclusively designed by PopSugar and just so pretty and stylish! Love ❤

Pixi by Petra Book of Beauty, Minimal Makeup ($24). I’ve never tried any makeup from this brand so this is a first for me. This palette comes with two highlighters (top 2 pans), two cheek/blush shades (2 middle pans), and four eye shadows (bottom 2 pans). This palette is designed for makeup minimalists as an everything you need for a “no-makeup” makeup look. My first impression of this is was not so great because it took a few swipes of the powders to build up the colors in my swatches below. But, I’ve actually grown to really like this palette. While none of the powders are super pigmented, they’re not supposed to be. This is to be used for a soft subtle look. The soft hues are very pretty and have more of a satin finish.

Swatches below are in order from Left to Right as seen in the image above.

Miss Ivy Pearl Five-Tassel Necklace ($38). This jewelry item is a miss for me. It’s pretty but it’s just not my style. I will probably be gifting this to someone or it will be sitting in my jewelry box collecting dust, sadly :(.

Govino Go-Anywhere Carafe and Water Glass Set ($14.95). This is a shatterproof carafe and glass set to take your water on-the-go anywhere you please. It’s made of BPA-free polymer that resembles fine crystal. I’m not so sure I’ll be using this for water ;).

Hello Extra Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste ($4.49). This is a peroxide and preservative free toothpaste which is vegan and packaged in a recyclable carton. So, the packaging is nice but unfortunately, this is a another miss for me. Only because I am a die hard fan of Colgate toothpaste and don’t use any other toothpaste but my Colgate. Yes, I’ve tried other brands but none compare to my Colgate. Does that make me weird?

Goodie Girl Cookies Toffee Chaos ($4.99). Well, as you can see from the tear on the packaging, I tore right into this baby when I opened the box. I love anything toffee, especially cookies! These cookies are really good. They’re gluten-free and made with kosher dairy and without peanuts. They’re also low fat, low sugar, and low calorie so you don’t feel so guilty eating these (at least I don’t!).

LOLA Gift Card ($10). LOLA is a tampon subscription service. Yes, you read that correctly! What?! LOLA’s tampons are made with 100% cotton instead of synthetic ingredients. I have to be honest and say this is another miss for me. I don’t believe I will be subscribing or ordering a tampon box anytime soon.

For me, the PopSugar Must Have March 2016 box was a mixed bag. It came with some great and some not so great items. It’s definitely not my favorite box but it included some products I’ll definitely be using.

The total retail value of this box is $151.43 and you only pay $39.95 + tax.

Love always,
