I’m a big fan of Marc Jacobs Beauty. They are one of those makeup and beauty brands you can trust to make a good product. I’ve been using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer for a few weeks now and have been absolutely loving it. Although I’ve seen Jaclyn Hill and other YouTubers rave about this primer all of last year, I was reluctant to buy it because of the price. I kept telling myself “Girl please, do you really need a $44 primer?” Uh, yes I need this in my life. Just like I need an $85 facial moisturizer. #sorrynotsorry.
Anyway, if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that I have combination (mostly dry), sensitive skin. I stay away from matte anything and focus on beauty and makeup products that provide hydration to my face. The Marc Jacobs Undercover Perfecting Coconut Primer does just that and then some.
Sephora’s website describes this as “A skin-smoothing, makeup-extending primer infused with five types of coconut to nourish and hydrate the complexion.”
First of all, let me just clarify that there is only 1 coconut fruit. What they mean by “5 types of coconut” is that this primer is infused with coconut fruit (for vitamins and antioxidants), coconut water (for hydration & smoothing), coconut milk (for blurring imperfections), coconut polysaccharides (for priming the complexion), and coconut extract (for coconut fragrance).
So, let me tell you a bit about this primer. Aside from the very faint smell of delicious coconut – which, by the way, I don’t smell at all after applying all of my makeup, this primer also:
-Provides exceptional hydration that lasts all day. Ideal for normal to dry skin.
-Feels refreshing on my skin when I apply.
-Gives you a dewy finish.
-Is so soft and gentle on my skin.
-Starts off slightly tacky then dries to a smooth finish.
-Extends the wear of your makeup.
If you don’t believe me, see for yourself. Below is one pump of product on the back of my hand. Can you see the dryness and fine lines on the back of my hand?
Below is the primer fully blended in. I swear it’s like magic! The back of my hand now looks soft, smooth, and dewy. You can barely see any fine lines.
Verdict: I absolutely love this primer and would highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin. To be honest, if this primer was $100, I would still buy it. It provides a perfect canvas for foundation and makes my skin feel fabulous!

Have you tried this primer?
Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely weekend!
